Oludeniz
The village and the beach at the lagoon were locally known as Belcekız or Belceğiz before the area became a magnet for mass tourism, although today many people in the area have no idea what Belcekız is, and both the town and the lagoon are known as Ölüdeniz, which literally means "Dead Sea" and originally only referred to the lagoon itself.
How do I get from Antalya Airport to Ölüdeniz?
There are many transfer companies that offer transportation between Antalya and Ölüdeniz, as the distance is somewhat long, the transfer vehicles are very comfortable to simplify the journey.
Another option is to rent a car suitable for the size of your group, and these cars offer both time and cost advantages proportional to the size of your group.
What to do in Ölüdeniz?
Paragliding: A number of companies in Ölüdeniz offer paragliding opportunities from the summit of the nearby Babadağ mountain, which is about 1,900 meters above sea level. A "ride" from the summit to the beach takes about an hour and offers breathtaking views of the Blue Lagoon and the valleys and mountains covered with pine forests. Training and tandem flights are also available for those inexperienced in paragliding.
Market: One thing you should do in Ölüdeniz is to get in your private car on a Tuesday and drive to the market in Fethiye. It has absolutely everything (including many fakes). It is a very busy market used not only by tourists but also by Turks who buy their products. Go to the fish stalls, buy fresh fish, and then go to one of the nearby restaurants where it will be prepared for you for a few Turkish Lira.
Boat Rental: There are several people on the beach who rent out a small motorboat for a few hours.
